To achieve a strong bond between porcelain paving and the bedding layer, use a priming slurry during installation. This technique is equally important for natural stone and concrete slab patios. By incorporating this product, you can enhance the durability of your patio or paved garden space. Remember, you can apply Slurry Primer to more than just porcelain. We highly advise applying it to natural stone paving flags before installation. This step will minimise the risk of unsightly ‘picture frame’ stains and patches caused by cement and minerals from the base mortar seeping through to the stone’s surface.

Product Application

Kilsaran KPRO Street Priming Slurry is a specially formulated polymer-modified cement slurry that ensures a strong bond between various bases, paving units, and their bedding materials. This product works seamlessly with Kilsaran HSBC, achieving an impressive adhesion strength exceeding 2 N/mm², in line with BS 7533 standards.

You can expect coverage of approximately 15 to 17 square meters on most paving surfaces.

Product Use

Ideal for application in temperatures ranging from +5°C to +30°C. It’s crucial to ensure that the supporting base is stable, sound, and devoid of any dust, dirt, or grease. After cleaning, the base must be presoaked, and any standing water should be removed before applying the priming slurry. To prepare Kilsaran Priming Slurry, mix 5.0-5.4 liters of clean, potable water with each 20kg bag of material for about 3-4 minutes until you achieve the right consistency for priming. Once mixed, apply a coat of priming slurry measuring 1mm-2mm to the pre-soaked base. After laying the bedding material, like Kilsaran HSBC, ensure all paving units are pre-soaked and their bedding faces are coated with a 1mm-2mm layer of the priming slurry before positioning them.
